I replanted my queen palm a few months ago and just started noticing this. Is this scale? It covers most of the base so I fear it’s a lost cause. I water it enough and it’s by a window so it gets enough light, but this seems impossible to clean off.

    Definitely scale 🙁

You can wipe off the adults but you also need to attack the larvae and eggs.

I just finished fighting a bad case of scales and bonide horticultural spray is what helped keep them away. Had to do three thorough spray sessions

Yeahhh scale basically comes with those palms. Do you have a lot of plants?

I screamed loudly in my head. If were mine I’d toss that. I’m sorry 😞

Oh god. I’ve been finding this on various plants… had no idea it was scale. It’s causing whole stems to fall off at the base. 😖
